Renewals, Holds and Fines

Renewals

Most items may be renewed twice, unless:

  • The item is on reserve or in heavy demand

  • You have previously renewed the item

  • You owe more than $5 or have more than 5 items overdue

You can renew items three ways:

  1. By phone: call Telecirc at 604-527-4686 and follow the prompts
  2. In person, even if the item is not with you
  3. Online: select My NWPL from the library catalogue

Holds

Holds are free and may be placed on most items. Reference books and Bestseller Express books cannot be held. Magazines must be reserved by a librarian (at any desk or by phone).

You may have 30 reserves on your card at one time.

The Library will notify you by phone or e-mail when the reserved item comes in. To get your library notification by email, register your email address at the checkout desk or fill in this online form.

Holds not picked up are charged $1.00 per hold. This fee applies to all borrowers, including children and seniors, and for all types of materials.

Fines are charged on items late for each day the library is open.

All material from the Adult Department: 30 cents per day per item, to a maximum of $5.00 per item.
