One-On-One Computer Tutorials
The Reference Department offers free one-on-one computer tutorials every Saturday. The tutorials last 40 minutes and are by appointment only.
Topics we can cover in the tutorials include:
- Using the Library's computers and the Library's website
- Setting up and using a web-based email account
- Basic Internet searching
- Basic computer skills (opening and closing programs, using a mouse)
- Saving files to a flash drive
- Basic word processing (opening a new document, changing font attributes, line spacing
Topics we can't cover include:
- Using your personal electronic device (iPad, iPhone, iPod, laptop, netbook, digital camera)
- Using iTunes (it's not on our public computers)
- Detailed resume advice (but we can show you lots of great books to get you started)
- Webpage creation
- Image editing
- Excel, Powerpoint, and advanced word processing
