WorkBC Centre New Westminster and the New Westminster Public Library are pleased to present WorkBC's "Job Search During COVID" employment workshop series. There are three sessions, each dealing with a different aspect of how to find and transition to a new job or career during and after the Pandemic.
The three workshops are scheduled as follows:
Wednesday May 26th 1-2:30pm Transitioning to a New Career
In this workshop you will explore your personal values and experiences and understand how these can help inform your search for a new job or career. You will also be introduced to career assessment tools, job search websites and some of the services available through WorkBC.
Wednesday June 9th 1-2:30pm Post-COVID Resumes
In this workshop you will be introduced to JobHero.com and explore a variety of resume styles and appropriate formats. You will also learn about the importance of tailoring resumes when responding to different job postings.
Wednesday June 23rd 1-2:30pm Virtual Job Search Etiquette
Learn how to manage your social media presence to avoid inappropriate material that may affect your ability to get a job. You will also learn about how to prepare yourself and your space for a virtual interview. Participants will be introduced to Microsoft Teams and Zoom, both of which are commonly used for virtual interviews and meetings.
