Have you got a story to tell or thoughts to share and want to start a podcast? In collaboration with the New Westminster Arts Council the Library is pleased to offer a brand new, three-part series we’re calling ‘Podcasting 101’. We’ll review and demonstrate all the equipment you need to get started, share the how-to’s of building your podcast from start to finish, and enjoy a Q&A event with a number of local podcasters who will each offer their own personal stories about how they got into podcasting. The series will take place over three sessions on May 11, 18 and 25, 2022. Seating is limited so register soon by emailing askus@nwpl.ca or phoning 604-527-4665. Attend one or more sessions!

Session 1: Wed May 11, 2022 6:30-8pm - Intro to Podcasting Equipment

In this first of our three-part series, New Westminster’s Daniel Huéspe reviews all the hardware and equipment needed to get started with your own podcast!

Believing in the power of capturing a moment, Daniel Huespe is a videographer, podcaster, and streamer. He started with Sweet Culture, a series hosted by Close Look, where he engaged a wide variety of guests covering many topics. Daniel has a love of people, and the stories they have to tell. Podcasting has given him the perfect avenue to explore these stories, and he looks forward to doing so much more in the coming months.

Session 2: Wed May 18, 2022 6:30-8pm - Podcasting – From Concept to Production

In this second in our three-part series host Jenn Radke, producer and host of the FatGirlBookClub podcast, provides must-have tips needed to take your idea from conception to production.

Jennifer Radke is the host of the podcast Fat Girl Book Club. Her podcast provides an engaging book club experience centered around a different body acceptance book each session. Episodes also include interviews with special guests who enrich the discussions with their own experiences. The podcast releases every second Thursday and has been going without a break for two years. Jennifer is also a podcast consultant and producer. You can check out Jennifer’s podcast at https://fatgirlbookclub.simplecast.com or on your favourite podcast app.
