Black History Month
The theme of Black History Month in Canada this year is “30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries.”
This February, we encourage you to explore inspiring works that reflect the rich history and bright future of the Black community, with a special focus on selections that highlight Canadian Black history and the ongoing journey of excellence.
At the Library
Come to either of our branches to soak up Black history.
At Main Branch, check out our display featuring books curated by our staff to support your Black history learning journey. You can borrow any book from the display that catches your eye — just grab it and check it out!
You can also read related books and magazines at the library, whether in our Main Branch lounge, at the long desk along the window at Queensborough Branch, or in any spot you feel cozy.
