Meeting Rooms

The Main Branch of the Library has three meeting rooms available for public use.

  • All rooms are free and in high demand so plan as far in advance as possible
  • Rooms are available to New Westminster not-for-profit organizations for meetings and public programs of an informational, educational, cultural or philanthropic nature.
  • Some rooms are also available as study rooms.
  • The Plaskett Room at Main Branch is currently unavailable.

Please review our current hours of operation and note that meetings must be completed 15 minutes prior to closing.

Location: 2nd floor of the library

Access: Elevator or stairs

Seats: 12 around a Board table

A/V: Equipped with wall-mount TV and sound system

Conditions:

  • Can be booked up to one month in advance
  • Groups may book the room a maximum of twice in a calendar month, depending on availability.
  • No food is allowed in the Ash Street Room. Drinks with lids are acceptable.
  • Is reserved for Silent Study M-F 3-6pm (except from June-August).

Location: The lower level of the library (take elevator or stairs down to 1)

Access: Elevator or stairs

Seats: 75 people theatre-style or 40 people classroom-style

A/V: Equipped with pull-down screen, projector and sound system

Conditions:

  • Can be booked up to one year in advance.
  • Groups must set up their own tables and chairs, and stack them again when finished.
  • One booking per month, depending on availability.
  • Food/Catering is permitted provided groups clean up before leaving.

Location: 2nd floor of the library

Access: Elevator or stairs

A/V: Equipped with wall-mount TV and sound system

Seats: 8 people

Conditions:

  • Same-day signup only in-person or by phone 604-527-4665
  • Must have 2 or more people in your group
  • Maximum 2 hours per group per day
  • Must be used for group study or meetings
  • No food is allowed in the Gallery Room. Drinks with lids are acceptable.

To Make a Booking

To reserve a room, email roombookings@nwpl.ca with the following information:

  • your group’s name and primary contact information
  • type of meeting
  • number of people that will attend
  • name of the room you would like
  • at least 3 days and times that will work for you

Please note:

  • Rooms are more available during evenings and weekends
  • Users must return rooms to their original condition after use
  • Organizers and participants must abide by all Public Health Orders effective the date of the meeting
