Public Delegations
Members of the public are welcome to attend regular New Westminster Public Library board meetings as observers.
To appear as a delegation, send a request to the Board Secretary at libraryboard@nwpl.ca at least ten (10) days before the scheduled meeting, indicating the subject matter.
Your request must include:
- who will be attending
- the organization you represent, if any
- the topic of your presentation
- the meeting date you wish to make your presentation
Your presentation must be under ten (10) minutes long. The Board Chair has final authority on whether to allow a presentation, the time allotted, and the time given to questions from Trustees, if any.
Delegations will be virtual with a Zoom link provided in advance of the meeting.
Please contact the Board Secretary at libraryboard@nwpl.ca if any accommodations will be needed for you to attend and present to the Board.
The Library Board reserves the right to refuse a request for delegation appearance.
Become a trustee
New Westminster Public Library board trustees serve for 2-year terms.
When a position is available on the board an announcement is made on the City of New Westminster website and on our library website.
Board trustees are selected on the basis of their knowledge, experience, and activity in the community and are appointed by city council.
Residents who are interested in serving on the board are invited to complete an application form.
For more information on becoming a trustee, please contact our Chief Librarian.
