Wondering how the banking system, credit history, employer pay statements, and tax filing work in Canada? Join us for this informative session to learn about how you should set up your finances in Canada.

You can ask questions and get important resources.

This session is geared toward new arrivals to Canada and will cover these basics:

  • learn why a bank account is needed and how to choose the right bank and banking services
  • understand the advantages and dangers of using debit cards, credit cards and ATMs
  • learn how to use effective money management skills to build credit history
  • understand the terms used on a pay statement and the purpose of payroll deductions
  • understand when, why and how to file an annual income tax return
  • know where to go for support and guidance

 

This session will be presented live in person, and be streamed online via Zoom. Unfortunately the session will not be recorded. All registered attendees will receive the Zoom link.
