New Westminster residents can reserve rooms free of charge at the Main branch for non-commercial uses that serve educational, cultural, or civic purposes.

Reviewing the room-specific information below before submitting your request helps the library process all requests more efficiently.

When booking a room, you agree to adhere to our Public Meeting Rooms Policy and Terms of Use.

Do you have a library card?

A valid NWPL library card with a New Westminster address may be required to complete your booking request.

Will your room booking be used for an event open to the public?

All events open to the public must be proposed as a partnership program.

Gallery Room

Maximum Time:

2 hours. Booking must occur within library hours and end 15 minutes before library closes.

Grace Period:

15 minutes following the start time of the booking, after which your reservation will be cancelled
Room-booking privileges may be restricted if you fail to show up for your booking more than twice

Food:

No food allowed
Drinks with lids are acceptable

Maximum Time:

Up to 4 hours, depending on the booking method. See section “Book the Room” for details. Booking must occur within library hours and end 15 minutes before library closes.

15 minutes following the start time of your booking, after which your reservation will be cancelled
Room-booking privileges may be restricted if you fail to show up for your booking more than twice

Food:

No food allowed

Ready to book the Ash Street Room?

To request a 2-hour booking within the next two weeks:

Check the room’s availability.
Book for the same day depending on availability OR book up to one future date within the next two weeks. Phone 604-527-4665 or speak to a library staff member in-person to book the room.
Provide your name, phone number, and date and time of your booking.

To request a booking of up to 4 hours within the next three months:

Check the room’s availability.
Book one up-to-4 hours-long advanced booking per calendar month, up to three months in advance.
Submit a room booking request using our online form.
Library staff will respond to your request within 72 hours.

The earlier you can submit your request, the more likely we are able to accommodate it. We recommend you plan to submit your booking request a minimum of 7 days ahead of your desired date(s). Requests can be submitted up to three months in advance.

Book a maximum of once per group per calendar month, up to three months in advance.
Submit a room booking request using our online form.
Library staff will respond to your request within 72 hours.

The earlier you can submit your request, the more likely we are able to accommodate it. We recommend you plan to submit your booking request a minimum of 7 days ahead of your desired date(s). We will do our best to accommodate short notice requests but we can’t guarantee a response with less than 72 hours of notice.
