Teen Summer Reading Club
Teen Summer Reading Club is for students who have completed Grade 6 or higher. Read on your own (and participate in additional activities) for a chance to win great prizes every week in July and August!
Summer Reading Club runs from June 16th to September 14th.
How does it work?

For every 7 days of reading, you earn a badge and an entry into our weekly prize draws.

Your Reading Log comes with special challenges you can complete to earn more prize-draw entries!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still do the Kids Summer Reading Club? I miss getting a medal!
If you would rather participate in the Kids Summer Reading Club, you can! But you have to pick either the Kids or Teen program; you can’t do both.
What if I can’t come to the library?
If you can’t make it to the library this summer, we still want to help you participate! Email youth@nwpl.ca and we can figure out what will work for you.
What are the prizes? When is the grand prize draw?
We will draw a weekly prize winner every Friday in July and August. Prizes will be books, gift cards to Kinder Books and Rocky Point Ice Cream, free recreation passes, and free yearly memberships for the Youth Centre.
Our Grand Prize is a surprise! We will draw one very lucky winner on September 14th, when Summer Reading Club ends.
Do I need a library card to participate? Do I need to live in New Westminster?
Everyone is welcome to join Summer Reading Club. You don’t need to live in New West or have a library card.
Are there other free activities I can do at the library?
Yes! Visit our Events Calendar or pick up our summer program brochure for teens.
