Misinformation Moment: What’s at Stake for Canada?

Presented in conjunction with The Glass Room, our art and technology exhibit for December, please join us for a panel discussion on digital privacy and misinformation. This panel will discuss what happens when we increasingly rely on social media and the web for nearly all our information? What information do we see, and what do we miss? How can we be sure if a picture or a tweet is genuine or truthful? And what can we do if we can’t be sure?

Our panelists are:

• Peter Julian (former MP for New Westminster)
• Peter Musser (from the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management

And it is hosted by Dr. Halimat Alabi (from the UBC Faculty of Education)

The panel will take place in person at the Main Branch of the New Westminster Public Library, and online via Zoom. All registered participants will receive the Zoom link a few days before the event.
