COVID-19 Services

EFFECTIVE May 29, 2021 – LIBRARY SERVICES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

We join all of you in the hopeful and optimistic guidelines that are emerging in reponse to the most recent Public Health Orders and the announcement of BC’s official Restart Plan. As a result we are working to slowly and carefully begin a return of services affected by COVID-19 in accordance with Public Health guidelines.

In collaboration with other departments in the City of New Westminster, as well as other throughout our regions library sector the we have developed our own Library Restart Plan. While the targets for restarting library services are organized by date, we will continue to follow any Public Health Orders that emerge to ensure we move safely and steadily toward a full return of library services to the community.

CURRENT GUIDELINES:

In order to keep our staff and community safe, we ask the following when you visit the library:

  • Wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose at all times
  • Sanitize before and after your visit
  • Do not visit in large groups (ideally, one person per household)
  • Keep visits as short as possible (no more than one hour)

We continue to follow the Library’s WorkSafe BC COVID-19 Safety Plan as well as the City of New Westminster COVID-19 Safety Plan to optimize safety for both our staff and community.

Reminder: We only update this page if there is a change in availability of services to the community.
